This is the 6th year that members of the San Antonio Railroad Heritage Museum’s division Friends of the SP794 have decorated this piece of San Antonio’s railroad heritage. Built in 1916, the locomotive has been on display since 1957 in San Antonio. Our goal is to restore her back to operations and have her as an ambassador to the city and South Texas promoting railroad heritage, and rail safety. The Homecoming Spirit Lighting Competition challenged students involved in student organizations to reflect their UTSA spirit and pride by participating in a new involvement opportunity at the UTSA Downtown Campus. Student Government Association representative, Ana Cabrera, came up with the theme, "How Do You Shine at UTSA?" She and Conor Harvey, Student Government Association Downtown Affairs Chair, kicked off the event by using LED blue and orange lights to decorate the first two of twelve trees in the Bill Miller Plaza. In addition to the twelve trees, all four of the Downtown Campus buildings are outlined with white LED lights. The lights will remain up through January 5, 2014.
